SACSCOC Accreditation Task Force
The SACSCOC Accreditation Task Force will focus on developing the prospectus to be submitted for approval by SACSCOC as outlined in SACSCOC guidelines and via its substantive change approval process. The Task Force will oversee the gathering and alignment on requirements needed for SACSCOC accreditation, prospectus writing, delivery of key documents to SACSCOC, new entity mission development, and SACSCOC’s substantive change committee report and preparation for the committee site visit.

Completed documentation and review of 34 accreditation standards and submitted the Substantive Change Report to SACSCOC ahead of schedule (September 10, 2025).
Merger prospectus was reviewed and approved
The merger prospectus was reviewed and approved by the SACSCOC Board in June 2025.
Task Force submitted the prospectus
The Task Force submitted the prospectus to SACSCOC in March 2025. SACSCOC will vote to approve the prospectus at their June 2025 Board meeting.

Members focused on finalizing a prospectus for submission by mid-March 2025.
The new mission statement was approved
Based on positive feedback on the new, combined mission statement through each institution’s shared governance process, the university presented the statement to the UT System Board of Regents for approval on November 20, 2024. The new mission statement was approved, marking a key milestone.
