Activate your free VIA U-Pass
We’re excited to offer a new benefit as part of the merger and our commitment to unified services. All Health Science Center faculty, staff, students, residents and fellows now have access to a free VIA Bus U-Pass, beginning Wednesday, Jan. 21. Create an account with your uthscsa.edu email to sign up for your free U-Pass and learn how to access it at https://www.utsa.edu/campusservices/runner/via.html.
The U-Pass provides unlimited rides on all VIA routes across San Antonio, making commuting easier and more affordable, including these options:
- Hop on one of many VIA bus routes that serve and surround many Health Science Center classrooms, clinics and labs. Buses run early morning through late night, with frequent service and reliable schedules.
- Book an on-demand ride through the VIA Link app. It works like rideshare but operates within designated zones. Just request a ride and go — convenient for getting around on your own time.
- Riders with disabilities can apply for VIAtrans curb-to-curb service. You’ll just need to apply in advance.
- Use your U-PASS from VIA Park & Ride locations to get free rides to sporting events, concerts and downtown events.
